Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to Moshi or Arusha, where you will check into a comfortable private lodge or hotel. A private pre-trek briefing will be conducted, including an equipment check and an overview of the climb. Enjoy a restful night before your adventure begins.

Day 2: Moshi/Arusha – Umbwe Gate (1,640m) – Umbwe Cave Camp (2,850m)

After breakfast, you will drive to Umbwe Gate, where park formalities are completed. The trek begins through a dense rainforest with steep, winding trails leading up a narrow ridge. This challenging section takes approximately 5-6 hours before reaching Umbwe Cave Camp. Upon arrival, your private support team will set up the camp, and you will enjoy a specially prepared meal before resting for the night.

Day 3: Umbwe Cave Camp (2,850m) – Barranco Camp (3,950m)

Day 5: Karanga Camp (4,035m) – Barafu Camp (4,673m)

The trek becomes more challenging as the landscape shifts to alpine desert terrain. The hike to Barafu Camp takes 4-5 hours, with gradual elevation gain. Upon arrival, your team will prepare a hearty meal, and you will have an early rest in preparation for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 6: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,100m)

The most challenging yet rewarding day begins with a midnight ascent toward Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The trek is long and strenuous, taking 6-8 hours, but reaching the summit at sunrise is an unforgettable experience. After celebrating and capturing photos, you will begin the descent to Mweka Camp, where you can rest and recover.

Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate (1,640m) – Moshi/Arusha

The final trek to Mweka Gate takes about 3-4 hours through the lush rainforest. Upon arrival, you will receive a summit certificate, followed by a private transfer back to Moshi or Arusha. A special post-trek celebration dinner awaits, marking the end of your incredible journey.
