Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi/Arusha
Arrive in Tanzania, transfer to the hotel, and meet your guide for a briefing and final gear check.

Day 2: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp (2,600m)
Start your trek with a 4-5 hour hike through lush forests, spotting wildlife before reaching Simba Camp.

Day 3: Simba Camp to Kikelelwa Camp (3,600m)
Trek through the moorlands, enjoying spectacular mountain views and unique vegetation.

Day 4: Kikelelwa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330m)
A shorter but steeper ascent, perfect for acclimatization. Spend the afternoon exploring Mawenzi’s rugged terrain.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut (4,700m)
Cross the alpine desert “Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo, preparing for the midnight summit push.

Day 6: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) & Descend to Horombo Hut (3,720m)
Begin the summit attempt at midnight, reaching Uhuru Peak by sunrise. Celebrate your achievement before descending to Horombo Hut.

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate (1,900m) & Departure
Final descent through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, where you receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi/Arusha.

(For 8-10 day options, additional days are added for acclimatization, cultural experiences, or combination treks.)
