What Happens on Summit Night
🕛 11:00 PM – Midnight | Wake-Up & Final Gear Check
You’ll wake up at your base camp (Barafu, Kibo or School Hut, depending on the route). After a light snack and hot drink, your guide performs a gear check, thermal layers, headlamp, gloves, and insulated water bottles.
🌘 12:00 AM – 4:00 AM | Steady Ascent in the Dark
The climb begins at a slow, steady pace (“pole pole”). The route is steep and rocky, with switchbacks up loose scree. You’ll stop for 5–10 minute rest breaks every hour to drink and eat small snacks.
