Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Game Drive
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Known as the "Elephant Paradise", Tarangire is home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa, alongside lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and various antelope species.
As you enter the park, your expert safari guide will lead you on an exhilarating game drive. On this drive, you will explore the diverse landscapes, including vast grasslands, ancient baobab trees, and the life-giving Tarangire River. This river attracts a large concentration of wildlife, especially during the dry season, making it a prime location for game viewing.
A picnic lunch will be served in a scenic spot within the park, allowing you to take in the breathtaking surroundings while enjoying your meal. After lunch, you will continue your game drive, with opportunities to spot lions resting in the shade, graceful giraffes browsing treetops, and herds of elephants moving across the plains.
By late afternoon, you will leave the park and head to your lodge or tented camp near Lake Manyara, where you will enjoy dinner and a restful night.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park – Game Drive & Return to Arusha
After an earl.y breakfast, you will set out for Lake Manyara National Park, a one-hour drive from your lodge. This small but stunning park is nestled between the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the alkaline Lake Manyara, creating a diverse ecosystem that supports a rich variety of wildlife.
As you enter the park, you will embark on a game drive through the lush groundwater forests, open savannahs, and the lakeshore wetlands. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, which are often seen resting on acacia branches. Other notable wildlife include elephants, buffalos, hippos, zebras, and troops of playful baboons.
Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the abundance of birdlife, with over 400 recorded species, including flamingos, pelicans, hornbills, and the striking African fish eagle. You will also visit the hot springs (Maji Moto), a fascinating natural feature within the park.
A picnic lunch will be served in the park, after which you will continue exploring the beautiful landscapes before beginning your journey back to Arusha. You will arrive in the evening, marking the end of a memorable safari experience.
